Bike2Parks History Tour

Back by popular demand! Join us for a six mile bike ride to visit three historic Longmont parks (Roosevelt, Thompson and Collyer) while author Paula Fitzgerald recounts the history of each. We will also visit Longmont’s newest park, Dickens Farm Nature Area.

First, we will meet at the Longmont Senior Center to start the tour. Then, we will ride through the tree lined beautiful streets of Old Town down to the greenway trail before finishing up the hill on the “gentle” side of town. We will bike on bike lanes and low stress roads throughout Longmont.

This leisurely bike tour will be led by former Parks and Trails Project Manager, Paula Fitzgerald, and Traffic Safety Coordinator, Lauren Greenfield. Paula will happily autograph her new book, “Longmont – Stories of our Parks,” if you bring your copy (available at Barbed Wire Books and the Longmont Museum).

Before your ride, be sure that your bike is in good/safe riding condition. All participants must wear a helmet and sign a waiver. Bring water and a snack if desired, and a way to safely carry them. Please update RSVP if your plans change!
