Invasive Tree Removal

Russian-olives are a state-listed noxious weed that negatively impacts native ecosystems by crowding out native trees, shrubs, and some wildlife while also impacting recreation along creeks and ponds due to their thick growth and thorns. This project will focus on controlling Russian-olive resprouts along creeks and ponds utilizing handsaws, loppers, and herbicide. Volunteers will cut small trees and City staff will apply the herbicide necessary to prevent regrowth. This is a joint project with local non-profit, Wildlands Restoration Volunteers (WRV).
