National Weather Storm Spotter Training

There are still a number of seats available for the Thursday, March 12, 2020 (6-8:30pm) National Weather Service Storm Spotter Training hosted by the Longmont Department of Public Safety. This training goes over how to identify severe weather, how to stay safe during severe weather events, the meanings of National Weather Service watches vs warnings, cloud features, what to look for in a rotating storm, how Colorado Weather is special, and how to join the Colorado All-Season Spotter Team (CAST).

These spotter courses are to train the public on weather safety and storm spotting techniques with the goal of signing them up to be volunteer severe weather spotters. This spotter training takes 2.5 hours and includes a basic and advanced session. 

Class starts promptly at 6pm at the Longmont Senior Center, 910 Longs Peak, Longmont in Rooms D-E. 30 seats available. Longmont Public Safety will activate a wait list for cancellations and availability.
