Pro Musica Colorado: Rainbow Strings

About the Event

rhodes_harumi

A veritable “rainbow” of a concert featuring great music by diverse composers. Violin soloist Harumi Rhodes joins Pro Musica Colorado in the fiery Violin Concerto No. 9 by Joseph Bologne, an 18th Century Afro-French composer. From the LGBTQ+ community, Pro Musica opens with Jennifer Higdon’s engaging Dance Card and ends with Tchaikovsky’s beloved Serenade for Strings. Conducted by Cynthia Katsarelis.

Pro Musica Colorado is a professional chamber orchestra. Through their performances of diverse works, they create a musical dialogue that evokes the full range of human expression by bringing fresh perspectives to the music of the past, presenting the visceral immediacy of new music, and sharing new voices from ethnically and racially diverse cultures.
