Spring Gulch #2 and County Line Road Celebration

Please join us at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, for a ceremony to celebrate the completion of Spring Gulch #2 and improvements to County Line Road between 9th and 17th Avenue. The completion of these two projects marks significant progress in our goal to provide Longmont residents and visitors with a complete, balanced and connected transportation system as outlined in our Envision Longmont Plan. The completion of these two projects introduces:

  • On-street bike lanes on County Line Road between 17th Avenue and 9th Avenue
  • Sidewalks along the west side of County Line Road from 17th Avenue to 9th Avenue
  • The addition of a grade separated pedestrian crossing of County Line Road at Spring Gulch #2
  • Left-turn lanes along County Line Road
  • Trail connections at Jim Hamm Nature Area
  • The addition of a greenway trail segment between Stephen Day Park and Union Reservoir

In addition to these improvements that offer more options for walking and biking in Longmont, aging infrastructure on County Line Road was replaced and the Spring Gulch #2 project introduced 5 acres of wetland to our community.

The event will be held on the Spring Gulch #2 trail on the East Side of County Line Road, just north of 9th Avenue (see map below). Parking is available at the trailhead on County Line Road. The ceremony will last about 20 minutes with time for questions and mingling afterward. Light refreshments will be provided (water and coffee). Please bring a chair if you would like to be seated for the presentation.

A recording of the event will be available on the City of Longmont’s YouTube Channel a few days after the event.

Please note that due to the evolving nature of the COVID-19 pandemic, the event will proceed under protocols determined by the Boulder County Public Health Department.
