The Art of Cheese – Virtual Cheesemaking Class
The Art of Cheese – Virtual Cheesemaking Class
Attend this live, interactive Zoom cheesemaking class and learn how to make Chevre (classic soft goat cheese) and Fromage Blanc (another soft cheese that can be made with any milk). It’s so easy and so delicious! This class will teach you HOW to make the cheese, but you will make the cheese on your own after the class is over. You will receive a mini cheese kit that contains the culture and cheesecloth needed for these cheeses along with the recipes (available for pick up at the Senior Center). Each participant must purchase his/her own milk before you make the recipe (either goat or cow’s milk). When you attend the Zoom class, you’ll learn all about how to buy the right milk for the cheeses and see the step-by-step process to make this cheese on your own afterwards. You’ll even get a virtual farm tour to meet the goats on Briar Gate Farm, located just west of Longmont. After the live class you’ll also receive a recording that you can refer back to when you’re ready to make your own cheese! (*Meat thermometers will be available for purchase for an additional fee.)
