Water in Longmont: A Fluid History

Vintage photo of Longmont irrigationTuesday, May 12, 5:30 pm, free. This virtual event is presented in partnership with Elevations Credit Union.

Longmont Museum Curator of History and author Erik Mason will explore how water, in both scarcity and excess, has flowed through Longmont’s history. Water scarcity created the landscape and determined how people lived here for thousands of years. Irrigation and mass water diversion projects have made possible the growth and development along the Front Range. Water excess, in the form of floods, have had a recurring role in altering the course of our community’s history.
