Celebrate City of Longmont’s GIS Day on Nov. 20
The City of Longmont will host its second annual GIS Day Celebration on Wednesday, Nov. 20 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Longmont Senior Center.
Hundreds of organizations worldwide host gatherings that celebrate the impactful work of GIS on the third Wednesday of November each year. Come learn about the work that Longmont’s GIS department does to aid in dozens of areas throughout the City. Some of the areas that GIS serves include:
- Active developments
- Bike Maps
- Climate Action
- Historic Imagery
- Vision Zero
- Food Desert
- Zoning Maps
- Tree Tour Maps
- Button Rock Preserve
- Oil & Gas Maps
- Utility Maps
You can engage with the GIS team and ask questions about the work, tools, and the role that the GIS department plays for the city. There will be question-and-answer displays, an interactive map and displays of several GIS-related projects throughout the City of Longmont.
You could also win a free personal use license to ESRI GIS software in addition to several items of Longmont-branded swag.
