Oct. 22, 2024 – Financial Assistance is currently available to help commercial businesses and multifamily properties comply with the Universal Recycling Ordinance (URO). The City of Longmont is committed to helping commercial businesses and multifamily properties have financial assistance to help with compliance of Longmont’s URO. URO Financial Assistance is valid for properties that commit to 1-year of NEW recycling and/or composting services within the first 1-year of signing up for those services. 

 

  • All commercial business properties will be able to apply for $700. 
  • Larger multifamily properties with 75 units or more will be able to apply for $2,500. 
  • Multifamily properties with 74 units or less will be able to apply for $1,500. 

 

The coupons are made available in partnership with Boulder County on a one-time-only, first-come, first-served basis until funds run out. These amounts are expected to decrease after 2024. Apply today at https://bit.ly/Longmont-ZW-business-coupons 

 

As of June 1, 2024, recycling collection for commercial businesses and multifamily properties is required for those that are not already subscribed to recycling collection services. The next phase of the URO begins implementation on Jan. 1, 2025, requiring Organics (Composting) collection for food wholesalers, distributers, manufacturers and grocery stores.Â
