The primary parking lot between the Longmont Recreation Center and the Longmont Museum will remain closed for construction until Saturday, September 7.

The Recreation Center has been closed this week for annual scheduled maintenance (read the closure news release). This work includes asphalt rehabilitation of the parking lot, as part of the City of Longmont’s Pavement Management Program. During this work, the subgrade was discovered to be extremely unstable, requiring immediate asphalt rehabilitation efforts to remedy the lot’s structural integrity. As a result, the parking lot will remain closed until 5 am on Saturday, September 7.

However, the Recreation Center will reopen as scheduled on Monday, Sept 2 (Labor Day) from 10 am-4 pm and will return to regular hours of 5 am-9 pm starting Tuesday, Sept 3.

During the lot closure parking will remain available in the lot north of the Recreation Center and the lot north of the Museum. Please note that the Museum is closed on Monday in observance of Labor Day.
