The suspect(s) in a dark-colored sedan fired multiple rounds into the home. A 3-year-old female was struck by an unidentified projectile, resulting in life threatening bodily injury to her torso.
Two Longmont officers arrived on scene and quickly got the three-year-old outside of the property. Longmont Officers utilized the tailgate of one of the Longmont Police pickup trucks to triage the child with a medical kit just prior to the quick arrival of Longmont Fire and American Medical Response (AMR). The child was transported emergent by ambulance to a local hospital, where she was taken into surgery.
Hospital staff credited the child’s survival to the triage done on scene by Longmont officers and emergency personnel involved. As of last night, the three-year-old was listed in stable condition.
The suspect(s) fled the scene.
