While not associated with any one particular owner, several interesting people owned the house including Fred Sigley, who when he died in 1925, left $150,000.00 to the City of Longmont, $5000 to the Longmont Library and $5000 to the local school district.

The house has architectural significance because it is one of the best remaining local examples of the Queen Anne style.
