DESCRIPTION:Free Zone Day is a special day designed to give kids complete freedom to choose how they want to spend their time. There is no fixed schedule or structured program—participants can explore activities that interest them most. Whether they want to play games\, create art\, relax with friends\, try something new\, or simply enjoy unstructured time\, the choice is entirely theirs. Free Zone Day encourages independence\, creativity\, and self-expression while providing a safe and supportive environment for kids to follow their own interests and have fun at their own pace. \n\nThe Zone opens: 3 pm\nSnacks: 3-4 pm\nActivities: 4-5 pm\nDrop-in time: 5-5:30 pm\n\n  \nWe offer a small lunch/snack everyday. Our 22 citizen-based boards\, committees\, and commissions serve as a vital link between residents and city government. These groups play a crucial role in shaping policy\, providing expertise and ensuring diverse community input. \n  \nThe Museum Advisory Board consists of nine members who are appointed to serve three year terms with the Museum Director serving as an ex-officio member. The board’s purpose is to advise City Council in the development and use of the Longmont Museum. \n  \nThe public is welcome to attend any advisory board meeting\, held at Longmont Museum\, upstairs Conference Room\, 400 Quail Road\, at 4:30 pm on the third Wednesday of each month.

Whether you’re a teen\, adult or a kid\, this exciting challenge encourages you to try new books\, engage your creativity\, and connect with the Library and the community in new ways all summer long. \n  \nParticipating in Summer Reading is not only fun\, it’s valuable. Summer Reading programs like this one help kids maintain critical literacy skills\, learn new things\, and engage with books while they’re not in school. Teens and adults benefit as well. Regular reading keeps everyone’s literacy and comprehension skills strong for a lifetime. Kids and teens must complete BINGO boards by July 31 for a chance to win prizes.
