Quebecers Nicolas and Guillaume start one of the longest wilderness exhibitions in Canadian history at the upper edge of Nunavut, Canada’s newest and biggest province. They launch near northern Greenland and pull their sleds 1,000 miles south across primitive islands and heaving sea ice to the Northwest Passage, where they meet their canoes. Then begins a grueling, 1,200-mile paddle upstream cascading river into the huge, wild interior of Nunavut and down to Saskatchewan to meet their bikes, where they finish the expedition with a gorgeous 2,500-mile ride to southern Ontario.
Beyond the physical challenge, the aim behind the expedition was to broaden knowledge of the northern natural wonders and provide a humbling and refreshing perspective on how people dream of their next adventures, far from the well-documented routes.
