Greenway Trail Repairs (3 of 3)

During three separate projects in April, May, and June, volunteers will work to repair City of Longmont trail sections, filling low areas along 15 miles of greenway trail adjacent to either St. Vrain or Lefthand Creek. Over time, the crusher fine edges of greenway trails begins to deteriorate from a number of environmental impacts and general trail usage. As the trail edge degrades, the surface level no longer matches the adjacent concrete trail resulting in a lip that is a potential trip hazard and a challenging surface for disabled users. Volunteers will fill low spots in greenway trail edges using shovels and rakes.
