Come help us protect the newly completed Dickens Farm Nature Area by building a wire add on to existing prairie dog barrier. This volunteer project has two goals. First, we want to protect areas that have been newly seeded and landscaped from prairie dog disturbance. Protecting native plants and allowing seed to establish helps lessen weed and erosion problems in these areas. This makes Dickens Farm a better place for humans and wildlife. Second, installing these wire barriers helps prairie dogs stay in and maintain their original colony groups.
