Mental Health and Suicide Prevention
The beginning of the school year can be a stressful time for youth. This event can help. Rise Against Suicide will provide youth with tips to help manage stress and they’ll identify the warning signs of suicide. They’ll also share self-care techniques and ways to encourage kids to maintain strong self-esteem.
Families and youth of all ages are welcome, snacks and childcare provided. The event is free, but please register to save your seat.
- Who: All ages! Parents and peers are welcome to attend. There will be breakout groups in English and in Spanish.
- What: A free series of lectures and workshops designed to empower parents and peers with information to keep kids safe. This session will focus on mental health.
- Why: To build community, heal from hurts, and empower parents and youth.
- Where: Lashley Street Station (1200 Lashley Street)
