Motus Playback Improv Theatre: “Stories from the Flood”

Join the Longmont Museum for a special evening dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the 2013 flood. Motus Playback Improv Theater will be our guides as we navigate the tragedy, resilience and occasionally even humor that accompanied the flood through movement, music and storytelling. Come and share a short reflection about your experience of the flood, and then watch professional playback actors enact your story on the spot.

Arrive at 6 pm to explore the new 2013 Flood Photo exhibit and hear remarks from Museum Director Erik Mason.

FREE; reservations recommended.

About Motus Theater
The mission of Motus Theater is to create original theater to facilitate dialogue on critical issues of our time. They aim to use the power of art to build alliances across diverse segments of our community and country.

Storytelling is at the heart of what makes us human. Motus focuses on bringing marginalized voices or silenced histories to the stage. They support inclusion by expanding their audiences’ experiences of the variety of stories that make up our country. By using theater to learn and listen across the gaps of difference they weave tighter, stronger and more connected communities.

Thursday Nights at the Museum

The Longmont Museum exhibits and galleries are open until 9 pm on Thursday nights. Unwind after work with a beer or glass of wine and create art in one of our adult Art & Sip classes or join us for  a Thursday Nights at the Museum program to see a movie, catch a great band, or hear extraordinary people talk about issues of importance to Boulder County and beyond. Many of the programs take inspiration from our current exhibition agriCULTUREArt Inspired by the Land.

We hope to see you on Thursday nights this fall.
