Neighborhood Safety and Crime Prevention through Environmental Design
Neighborhood Safety and Crime Prevention through Environmental Design
Longmont is a safe community with a low crime rate relative to similar communities. Nevertheless, neighborhood groups, HOAs, and residents can take steps to reduce the potential for crime in their community. We’ll focus on the principles of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED), how the City applies it in public areas, and how it can be applied to both neighborhoods and residences to significantly reduce the opportunity for crimes to take place in your neighborhood. We’ll also venture into other ways to increase safety, including through active engagement of a community group.
This session will be hosted at the Longmont Senior Center in Rooms D & E.
