Parks Along Greenways – Tour Longmont Parks by Bike!

Celebrate Longmont’s 150th with a bicycle tour throughout the parks with parks historian and bicycle tour guide

As Longmont extended South of the river and the railroad, neighborhoods and parks were developed, followed by City amenities (this isn’t really the case – parks mostly followed the other city development), and included pools, the Museum, tennis courts and public art. Greenways continued to be part of the planning process and were integrated in plans to connect residents to parks, schools and more. This out and back ride will be 100% on Greenways & off-road bike paths.

Parks visited: Quail Campus, Sandstone Ranch, Kanemoto, and Lefthand Creek.

Any change due to inclement weather will be announced no less than one hour before start time; ride will take place the next day – same time and location.

All tours guided by former City of Longmont Parks Project Manager and author Paula Fitzgerald and Traffic Safety Coordinator and former Art in Public Places Administrator Lauren Greenfield.

• All rides are FREE for Longmont residents

• For all rides: Per County COVID restrictions: 12 participants, with wait list. If you sign up for more than one tour and are a no-show, you will automatically be deleted from your next ride.

• Participants will be provided with waivers on day of event.

• Bicycles must be in good working condition. If in doubt, please take bike to a bicycle shop before the ride.

• Safety checks will be done as a group. Please be prepared with spare tube (for your tire size) in case you have a flat (we can help, but will not provide a spare tube if one is needed). If your bicycle is deemed unsafe to ride, you will not be able to participate in the group ride (for everyone’s safety).

• All participants will receive a bicycle map and will have opportunity get personal autograph if you bring your copy of “Longmont – Stories of our Parks” with you or provide it at the end.

• Wear: comfortable, appropriate biking clothes, HELMET, MASK (required); preferred shoes without laces.

• Bring: water, snack (if desired).
