Sisters of Courage
Sisters of Courage
Sisters of Courage follows one family through the turmoil of the last half of the 19th century into the creation of Rocky Mountain National Park. The Civil War, Westward expansion and the Panic of 1893 are well-known historical events that take on new meaning in this story and shows the impact on a single family. Annie and Kittie Harbison homesteaded side by side in the Kawuneeche Valley, creating a successful ranch to supply milk to the expanding population. Dave Lively brings this tale to life as he explores their pioneer experience, the family’s unique life and how the Harbison Ranch became the west entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park.
