Winter Bike to Work Day
Winter Bike to Work Day
Bike to Work Day doesn’t have to happen in the summer months only. On Friday, February 10th, the City of Longmont will be hosting an International Winter Bike to Work Day station in the Development Services Center lobby located at 385 Kimbark Street between 7:30 – 9:00 AM. We will be serving burritos, home-made cookies, hot chocolate and donuts. Bike parking will be provided.
If you will be riding in the dark, be certain you have the proper lights on both the front and rear of your bicycle along with the required reflectors (it is the law!); wear highly visible clothing, and dress in layers for protection from the cold. While helmets are not required by law, it’s a very good idea to wear one, especially this time of year where you’re likely to encounter slick roadways.
Lastly, be sure to do an ABC-Q check of your bicycle to make sure your critical equipment is in working order before starting your ride: “A” is for air; “B” is for brakes. “C” is for chain, and lastly “Q” is for quick release.
