Senior Center Fair 2016

See what your community has to offer at the Longmont Senior Center Fair on Saturday, September 10 from 10 am to 1 pm at the Senior Center, 910 Longs Peak Avenue.

This is a fun, informal and easy way to explore what’s available to adults age 55 and older and sample some of the entertaining and educational activities. Meet teachers, activity leaders, staff, and volunteers who make the Senior Center an innovative and engaging place of learning and fun with local excursions, athletics, concerts, extended travel, technology assistance, outdoor pursuits, and so much more.

Discover the wide variety of exercise and wellness programs that support a healthy lifestyle. Delve into history, arts, political science and more brought to you by interested and engaged instructors.

Meet the resource experts who can help you, a family member or friend access programs that assist older adults and caregivers of older persons. Find out about support for those caring for an older person, whether a spouse, adult child, long-distance family member, neighbor or friend. Meet the counseling staff and volunteers who support older adults and caregivers going through life’s transitions.

You’re not alone if you’re thinking “that’s not for me” or “I’m not old enough.” Yet, over 14,000 visitors to the Senior Center in May of 2016 had an opportunity to experience new social connections, enhance their physical health, increase their emotional wellbeing, find needed resources, and have fun!

Since 1976 Longmont older adults have provided leadership to and participated in making the Longmont Senior Center a state-of-he-art community asset, a place where getting older just gets better.
