The date of construction of this house cannot be determined from available records, however, the significance of this structure lies solely in its architecture. There is no other house in Longmont which has this unique character and architectural design. During the early years the home was occupied by several individuals. From 1911 through 1916, the house was occupied by two Holmes families: Henry and his wife Dora, and John and his wife Mamie. Henry was a farmer, and John worked as a clerk at Chlanda-Harris Furniture Store. From 1918 through 1922, W.W. Calkins and his wife Mary lived in the house. Calkins received a water tap for the property in 1922. Calvin K. Pointer, a painter, and his wife Ruth lived in the home in 1923 and in 1926, a salesman, Max Sisson and his wife Katherine occupied the residence. The individuals who have lived in this house, although not remarkable in the history of the town, were important as working, contributing citizens to the development of the town.
