This December, the Children and Teens Services Librarians are excited to announce FREE drop-in programs designed just for 6th-12th graders this December:  

 

Teen Anime Club: 5-6 pm on Wednesdays, Dec. 4 and 18 in the Teen Space. Eat some tasty Japanese snacks while we watch anime! 

 

Teen Library Committee Meeting: 4-5 pm on Tuesday, Dec. 10 in the Teen Space. Help decide what teen programs the Library should offer, suggest books and movies to add to the Library, and work on creating a teen space that can better serve YOU. Great opportunity for volunteer service hours! 

 

Pens, Prompts, and Pizza – Teen Writers’ Group: 6-7 pm on Tuesday, Dec. 10 in the Teen Space. Spend time putting pen to paper with your peers. Build worlds, refine your OCs (original characters), write poems, or create something totally different in a friendly, no-pressure atmosphere. Pizza will be served! 

 

Teen Gaming Club: 5-6 pm on Wednesday, Dec. 11 in the Teen Space. Compete, cooperate and collaborate on our Nintendo Switch featuring a selection of games for 4-8 players. 

 

Taylor Swift Birthday Party for Teens: Noon-2 pm on Saturday, Dec. 14 in the Library Meeting Rooms. Are you a Super Swiftie? Come celebrate Taylor Swift’s 35th birthday as we Bejewel friendship bracelets, outsmart each other in rounds of Tortured Poet trivia, and Shake It Off to our favorite songs from all 11 eras of Taylor’s career. 

 

Finals Week Teen Café: 5-7 pm each night Dec. 16-19 in the Teen Space. We’re bringing a pop-up café to our teen room study space to help you through finals week! Stop by to hit the books and enjoy a free treat from our café cart. 

 

Third Thursday Teen Craft Night: 5-6 pm on Thursday, Dec. 19 in the Teen Space. Meet in the teen room on the third Thursday of each month to make a craft! 

 

Winter Break Cookies, Cocoa and Books!: 1-3 pm on Friday, Dec. 20 in the Library Meeting Rooms. Join us for a cozy afternoon to kick off winter break and celebrate our favorite books of 2024! Cookies and hot chocolate will be served and librarians will read some of the year’s best books for a special storytime. All ages welcome. 

 

Teen BINGO!: 3-4 pm on Friday, Dec. 20 in the Teen Space. Join us to play BINGO and win fun prizes! 

 

Wings of Fire Party: 2-3:30 on Monday, Dec. 30 in the Library Meeting Rooms. For 1st-8th graders. Calling all dragonets! Join us in celebrating all things related to the Wings of Fire series. Create your own dragon eye, test your knowledge of the novels through trivia games, and enjoy fun crafts and activities!Â
