UPDATED: State Highway 66 Railroad Work Originally Scheduled for December 7 and 8 is Now Postponed
The City of Longmont is planning a full closure of through traffic on 9th Avenue between Airport Road and Hover Street for approximately five weeks beginning on Thursday, July 9 through Friday, Aug. 14. This closure is necessary to ensure the safety of work crews and the public during road construction and asphalt paving operations for the 9th Avenue Improvements project.
Vehicles intending to travel east or west through the construction area will be required to use alternate routes. Please follow the designated detour signs to 17th Avenue to the north or Nelson road to the south of 9th Avenue.
Local traffic will be allowed to access neighborhoods at all times from 9th Avenue using the following routes:
- Access to Champion Greens from Airport Road
- Access to Valley/Fairways from Hover Street
Please plan accordingly and follow signage and on-site traffic personnel to avoid delays and navigate safety to your destination. Current project information and traffic impacts can be found on the project website at bit.ly/9th-ave-improvements.
If you have questions or concerns about the project, please call the Project Hotline at (720) 504-6308 or email 9thImprovements@gmail.com.
