Let’s celebrate the start of Summer Reading on the Library’s West Patio with punk rock band RLY ORY (pronounced early’oree)! As a local sister/ sister/ dad band, they play originals and punk covers. The music will start at 6 pm and run until 6:30 pm, so if you need a quieter celebration option, join us after 6:30 pm. Come pick up everything you need for the Summer Reading challenge and new summer brochures!

This summer, join in the run and read, learn, and explore your way through the season with the Library’s Summer Reading challenge! Whether you’re a teen, adult or a kid, this program encourages you to try read new genres, engage your creativity, and connect with the Library and the community in new ways all summer long.

Participating in Summer Reading is fun and valuable. It helps kids maintain critical literacy skills, learn new things, and engage with books while they’re not in school. Regular reading keeps everyone’s literacy and comprehension skills strong for a lifetime.

Starting May 21, participants can:

  • Download a BINGO board for kids
  • Download a BINGO board for teens
  • Download a Summer Reading punch card for adults
  • Pick up printed boards and cards at Childrens or Adults Library reference desks

Summer Reading runs from May 21 – July 31.

Kids and teens must complete BINGO boards by July 31 for a chance to win prizes. Adults can track their reading, get punches as they finish books, and win small prizes along the way.

Here’s to a fantastic, book-filled summer!
