Gas-powered Yard Equipment Trade-in Event
The City of Longmont’s Office of Sustainability is partnering with the Regional Air Quality Council (RAQC) and Ace Hardware to help Longmont residents replace noisy, polluting gas-powered lawn equipment with cleaner, quieter electric alternatives!

Program Details:
Bring your old gas-powered yard equipment to Ace Hardware Longmont (1727 Main St.) on Saturday August 15 from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm and receive a voucher toward the purchase of select new electric yard equipment.
Voucher amounts:
- Trade in a gas-powered handheld tool (such as a trimmer or leaf blower) and receive a $100 voucher.
- Trade in a gas-powered lawn mower, snow blower, or other large yard tool and receive a $200 voucher.
Before you arrive:
- All equipment must be completely drained of gasoline and oil.
- You can dispose of fluids at:
- Longmont Recycling Center (140 Martin St.) – Accepts motor oil only for recycling, Monday–Saturday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
- Hazardous Materials Management Facility (1901 63rd St., Boulder) – Accepts gasoline and motor oil, Wednesday–Saturday, 8:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
Other details:
- Vouchers are available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. No rain checks.
- This registration form must be completed before receiving a voucher.
- Limit one voucher per household.
- Longmont residents only.
- Vouchers are redeemable only at Ace Hardware Longmont
