Leticia Abajo has worked with the Spanish-speaking community in Boulder County since 1997 in different capacities, as teacher, interpreter, translator, defender of people’s rights, and activist. She has a degree in Human Development and Family Relationships from UCD, a certificate in Childhood Education from the Instituto de Estudios Aplicados in Madrid, Spain, and is certified as a Life Coach through the Instituto D’Arte in Madrid. Leticia is the current director of the Salud y Sabiduría (Health and Wisdom) Program in AMISTAD. She is an educator and life and family coach with Deshaciendo Nudos. (Untangled), in her private practice. She has been a part of AMISTAD since 2001 and has been a part of the team that organizes the Cumbre Anual de Mujeres (Annual Women’s Summit) since its beginning. Leticia loves spending time with her family, Alex, Ollie, y Amara, and her hobbies have to do with creativity and the connections among her loved ones and her community.
Marinela Maneiro Goodwin is originally from San Tomé, Venezuela but she lived in Caracas the majority of her life, until she was 22, when she moved to Boulder. She has a degree in clinical psychology, and she did post graduate work in organizational development. Her passion and her career are working with Latino families and supporting them in how to raise children in two cultures. Since 2003, she has produced a radio program, “Pasa la Voz”, where she speaks about topics pertinent to the immigrant community. “Nela” has collaborated with el Centro AMISTAD for the last 15 years, since her mission fits closely with the work she does with the organization: creating inclusive and safe spaces for our community. She currently works with AMISTAD as the coordinator of the Circulo de Bienestar Emocional program (Circle of Emotional Wellbeing). In her free time she likes to camp, travel, and spend time with her family in nature.
Dr. Perla Delgado joined “I Have A Dream” in 2020 with decades of leadership experience advocating for education equity and social justice. A Boulder native, she began working in the local community in high school and then later was employed by Emergency Family Assistance and Community Action Programs in Boulder. Perla came to IHDF from St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas, where she served as the Director and Principal Investigator of the College Assistance Migrant Program. She holds a Ph.D. in Education from Texas State University.
