Stories on Stage began in June of 2000 with a pilot performance at the Acoma Center in Denver. They formed a nonprofit corporation in 2001, and their board of directors adopted the organization’s mission. Stories on Stage engages audiences with dynamic and entertaining performances of short works of literature. In addition to standard programming of actors in dramatic reading of short fiction, they create special shows at the request of citizens on topics of interest to the community. Through the shared experience of live theater, Stories on Stage strives to inspire empathy and to break down boundaries between cultures and generations.
