Longmont Home Movie Day: Workshop & Screening

Do you have old home movies rotting away in your closet, attic, or basement? Not sure what to do with those ancient VHS or Beta tapes, Super 8 films, or even 16mm? If so, you’re in luck. Librarians and archivists from the University of Colorado Boulder are here to help you care for your personal and family media collections.

 

Share Your Story!
The University Libraries will provide free digitization for the first 30 families to submit a video tape, home movie film, or audio recording to the Longmont Museum front desk by Friday, October 16. Limit one item per family. Your home film or video may be included in our Home Movie Day screening!

1:00pm | Preservation Workshop

 

Learn how to identify, store and digitize home movies, photographs, slides, audio recordings and digital media. Expert librarians and archivists from CU Boulder will share practical guidance for caring for your personal archives and ensuring they can be enjoyed for generations to come.

2:30pm | Longmont Home Movies Screening

 

Experience a unique screening featuring home movies contributed by Longmont-area residents alongside archival footage documenting Colorado history from the collections of the University Libraries and the Longmont Museum.
