Shock Art – Submit your application

In partnership with Longmont Power & Communications, Longmont Art in Public Places (AIPP) commissions seven to ten artist or artist teams to visually transform selected dull electric boxes into dynamic works of art. The community votes on their favorite designs, and selected artists receive a $2,000 stipend to complete the work.

Artists are welcome to submit proposals on any theme. Designs should be community-minded, visually engaging, and appropriate for public display in a variety of neighborhood settings.

2026 is a historic anniversary year for both our state of Colorado (150 years) and our country (250 years). Alongside our usual open theme, we will commission at least one design inspired by the historic anniversaries.
