The Longmont All-Star Jazz Band (LASJB) is a year-round jazz education 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on delivering a high-quality, professional, and fun experience for students in Northern Colorado. Founded in 2001 by legendary local music educator Bill Wilkinson, the All-Stars began performing locally, giving students in the greater Boulder County area the opportunity to perform pro-level music in a big band regularly. Churning out All-State caliber musicians on an annual basis, the All-Stars quickly became a cornerstone in Longmont’s extra-curricular music education for the students who excelled at what they loved.
Sphere is a 14-member string ensemble based in Denver that’s redefining string music. Presenting genres from classical and baroque to rock, hip hop, and beyond, Sphere’s performances are emotionally resonant, polished, and deeply engaging. Driven by a love for all music, Sphere reaches a diverse and curious audience, classical enthusiasts, families, and adventurous listeners alike. The group is committed to community engagement, bringing live music to people and places that often go underserved, and creating fresh, meaningful musical experiences that break free from traditional concert formats.
Paloma Rose is an internationally performing jazz vocalist and bassist that’s influenced by the mysticism and color of the American Southwest. She paints with her music with Indigenous, Spanish, and Anglo roots. Paloma’s professional musical career began in her teenage years when she worked as a sound engineer at Denver’s iconic Dazzle Jazz Club. Paloma attended MSU Denver’s Jazz Performance program where she studied under today’s leading jazz voices. Today, she continues to shape the next generation of musicians as a private teacher of voice, bass, piano, and cello. Her presence in the Colorado jazz community runs deep. Rose’s performances have graced KUVO Jazz Radio, KGNU Radio, Denver 7 News, Westword, and MSU Red News; which speaks to her growing presence as both artist and community leader. At the heart of Paloma Rose’s work is a belief that music is sacred medicine—a tool for healing, transformation, and radical joy. Whether guiding students or commanding the stage, she invites listeners into a shared space of vulnerability and power, urging them to feel deeply, listen closely, and connect to something greater than themselves.
Victor Mestas was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, and studied at the “J. A. Lamas” School of Music with Carmen Moleiro. He is an endorsement artist for YAMAHA keyboards in Venezuela (2001), and his professional background includes more than 100 recording productions for national and internationally renowned artists. Mestas has performed as a pianist, keyboardist and arranger for renowned bands in Latin America and Venezuela including Guaco and Trabuco Venezolano. He has also accompanied an array of world-renowned singers including Soledad Bravo, Cheo Feliciano and Julio Iglesias’ 2010 Tour in Uruguay and Argentina. He moved to Boulder five years ago with his wife and two daughters. Locally, he performs on the Brazilian-Latin jazz scene and teaches the Latin Jazz Ensemble of the College of Music’s Thompson Jazz Studies Program.
