Hours of use for Greenway Trailheads and Greenway Lands is 1 hour before sunrise to 1 hour after sunset, while the Greenway Trail itself is open 24 hours, 7 days a week given there is continuous movement on the trail. Learn more about rules and regulations on public lands.

This trailhead provides parking and amenities for the St. Vrain Greenway Trail, which runs approximately 8 miles through Longmont from Sandstone Ranch Community Park and Nature Area on the east end to Golden Ponds Nature Area to the west.

The County Road 1 Trailhead provides parking, trailer parking, a shelter, picnic tables, trail access, and beautiful views of Sherwood Open Space. The art piece Defiance by Parker McDonald has also found a home at the County Road 1 Trailhead. Defiance features a CorTen steel eagle overseeing all activities along the greenway and open space.
