Hotels, Motels & Short Term Lodging Rentals
Lodging services means the providing of rooms or accommodations, by any person or group for short term rental (a period of less than 30 consecutive days).
Lodging Rentals conducting business inside the City of Longmont are required to be licensed with a City of Longmont Sales and Use Tax license. The license application can be completed at Longmont.munirevs.com.

Sales & Use Tax/Lodger's Tax Obligation
Lodging Rentals will have an obligation to collect and remit City of Longmont Sales and Use Tax as well as an obligation to collect and remit City of Longmont Lodger’s Tax.
Sales and Use Tax 3.53%
- A Lodging Rental type of business has an obligation to collect and remit to the City of Longmont SALES AND USE TAX on the full asking price of the rental including any cleaning or other fees required to rent the room or accommodation.
- If using a Website Marketplace Facilitator, the Sales & Use Tax may be collected and remitted to the City of Longmont directly through them.
- Lodging Rentals Sales & Use Tax for the City of Longmont may be filed:
- by downloading the hard copy form [Excel] and submitting payment via check
- by paying via an online form found on the City's Munirevs website.
Lodger’s Tax 2.00%
The City of Longmont requires that a special lodger excise tax of 2% be collected, reported and paid for Lodging Services located in the City of Longmont.
NOTE: Do NOT combine Sales & Use Tax with Lodger's Tax.
A Lodging Rental type of business also has an obligation to collect and remit to the City of Longmont Lodger’s Tax on the full asking price of the rental including any cleaning or other fees required to rent the room or accommodation.
Notice of Change to the City of Longmont Lodger Tax Returns
As of 2/1/2024 Lodger Tax Returns will no longer be using the Green sheets for filing. You will be able to go to the https://longmont.munirevs.com site to file and pay the Lodger tax returns online.
The Lodger Tax online returns will be available for the 1/2024 filing period starting 2/1/2024 and due on the 20th of the month after the filing period ends. An email should be sent from our database system to all the users that are attached to these accounts giving notice a return is due.
