The City of Longmont has approximately 900 regular positions in its workforce. Throughout the year, seasonal employment opportunities increase the workforce by about another 400 positions. Job recruitment notices are also posted in the Civic Center complex at 350 Kimbark St., Longmont, CO. The City of Longmont is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

 

Application Process

A City application is required for all positions. Human Resource Services will accept applications for OPEN positions only. Resumes are not accepted in lieu of an application.

 

You must apply online for all posted openings. Click to view all current job openings and apply online. If you have submitted an online application since January 9, 2018, you will have the opportunity to use the last submitted version of your application when applying for other positions.

Application Submittal

Applications for current vacancies must be received by the specified application deadline in order to be considered.  Only application information will be used in initial screening process. Please be sure to include all pertinent information in the online application form.  Resumes and other attachments will not be reviewed in the initial screening phase.

 

Qualifications

To be considered for a position, you must possess the minimum qualifications established for the position. As part of the selection process, examination procedures may include one or more of the following: interviews, a performance test, a polygraph and psychological examination, a background check or a physical abilities test.

 

The City of Longmont is a drug-free workplace. Pre employment drug testing, including marijuana testing is required as part of the hiring process.

 

Employment of Relatives

The City has no general prohibition against hiring relatives. However, our policy provides for no person to be hired, promoted, demoted, or transferred to a position which would result in such person directly, or indirectly through the department chain of command, supervising or receiving supervision from a person who is related by blood, related by marriage, or a person with whom the employee maintains a lifestyle accommodation substantially equivalent to marriage.

At the end of the hiring process, all applicants are notified either by telephone or email of the results of their application for employment.
