How to get a Library card
Getting a Longmont Public Library card is quick and easy. Come to the Library with a photo ID showing proof of a Colorado address, like an up-to-date CO driver’s license, and a staff member will help you through the process. Library cards are free, but you must be a Colorado resident to get one. If you are under the age of 16, you will need to get a Children’s Library card.
- Library cards are issued at the Library’s Information Desk or Circulation Desk in the lobby.
- Your first Library card is free. Replacement cards cost $2.
- Library cards from other local libraries in our consortium group (i.e. Boulder, Broomfield, Lafayette, Louisville, and Loveland) may be used to check out or access most items and services offered at the Longmont Library. Exceptions include items from the Library of Things, Experience Bags, State Park Pass Backpacks, and some online information services.
If you can’t come in the Library to get your physical, permanent card and would like access to newspapers, Libby, language services, and more go here.
