Please take a few minutes to add your feedback, which will help us identify our strengths and areas to focus on for improvement. This will help ensure Longmont remains competitive and desirable as a place to work and/or live. The survey will run through October. Take the Local Workforce Survey online. Questions? The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will officially adopt the new Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) for Weld and Boulder Counties this fall. The Weld County FIRMs will become effective on Sept. 26, while the Boulder County FIRMs will become effective on Oct. 24. Once they are effective, the official floodplain map will reflect these changes and some properties will change their floodplain status. Any building that will be in the 1% annual chance (100-year) floodplain and have a federally backed mortgage will be required to carry flood insurance. To check the flood zone for your property under the new maps, please visit bit.ly/LGMT-flood-information. The City participates in the Community Rating System (CRS), where residents qualify for a 25% discount on flood insurance premiums. You can find more information about flood insurance at the Flood Insurance webpage.
