The City of Longmont is informing the public of an Unmanned Aerial System (UAS), or drone, flight planned on Friday, July 9, over Garden Acres Park, 2058 Spencer St., Longmont.

This drone flight is being conducted to obtain footage of Garden Acres Park being used for a softball tournament. The footage will be used for public information projects related to park improvements and park usage.

The UAS flight path will cover the entirety of Garden Acres Park and approximately 50 yards beyond those limits into neighboring streets and neighborhoods. It will be conducted at an altitude of less than 400 feet following a preprogrammed route. The pilot will have takeover control at all times. 

The flight will take place during mid- to late morning, weather permitting.
