Art in Public Places Seeks Selection Panel Members
The Art in Public Places of the City of Longmont is seeking volunteers to assist with the selection of public art for a new Bridge collaboration project that will be placed on the new Highway 287 bridge over the St. Vrain greenway.
Volunteers are asked to be familiar with the public art collection throughout the City, to familiarize themselves with the select location, and to be willing and able to discuss their opinions of artwork. It is not necessary to “be” an artist, nor to have any formal art education in order to assist.
Volunteers will be asked to commit 3 – 4 evenings over a two month period. Meetings typically start at 5:30 on these evenings and may go as late as 9:00; you will be asked to commit to all of the selected dates to provide continuity of the process. Dinner will be provided. Selection panel members may serve on a panel once every three years.
Applications for this selection panel must be received by July 15, 2015 and panelists will be notified by July 17.
