Boulder County, CO — Boulder County Public Health encourages community members to continue getting tested for COVID-19.

As cases of the highly contagious Delta variant continues to increase, testing continues to be a vitally important tool for stopping the spread of COVID-19.

“Wearing a mask and timely testing continue to be essential strategies for containing COVID-19, particularly with the impacts of the Delta variant,” said Chris Campbell, Boulder County Public Health Emergency Manager. “Even though more people are getting vaccinated, we still need to remain vigilant to protect our community.”

Community members exposed to COVID-19 should follow the instructions on how to quarantine and watch for symptoms for 14 days.

Anyone who has been exposed to COVID-19 should get tested. People who are not fully vaccinated should seek testing 5-7 days after an exposure (3-5 days for those that are fully vaccinated) or at any time if experiencing symptoms.

“Even though symptoms may not be severe—you may have none at all—it is still possible to spread COVID-19. If you have any doubt, we urge you to go and get tested. Tests are free, easy to access, and you will get the results quickly,” Campbell added. “We all have a role to play in keeping our communities safe and healthy. If we work together, we can put an end to this pandemic!”

There are many convenient testing providers throughout Boulder County, including three locations that offer tests for free. A complete list of testing providers can be found at boco.org/covid19testing.

“Effective testing is essential to understanding COVID-19’s presence in our community and to help slow the spread of the virus,” said City of Boulder City Manager Nuria Rivera-Vandermyde. “The city remains committed to offering free, easy, local testing, especially as daily testing demand continues to rise.”

In addition to testing, vaccination and masking are effective ways to stop the spread. A complete list of vaccine providers can be found at boco.org/covidvaccines.
