Campaign Encourages Community Members to Serve on Boards and Commissions
The City of Longmont is once again inviting residents to take part in the ongoing It’s YOU! campaign, encouraging community members to help shape the future of Longmont by serving on a board or commission.
With more than 30 open positions available, the City is calling on individuals to share their time, insights, and expertise on the issues that matter most to them.
Through the It’s YOU! campaign, Longmont continues its effort to broaden civic participation and bring together diverse perspectives that are essential to a thriving community. Board and commission members play a vital role in advising on city policies, services, and programs that support a vibrant and sustainable Longmont—making a real difference at the local level.
The campaign especially encourages those who may not have previously considered themselves a good fit for board or commission service to think again. “It is so important that our boards are made up of individuals with different types of skills, experiences and perspectives,” said Longmont Mayor Joan Peck. “For those who see this campaign and ask themselves ‘Could this really be about me?’ we want them to know that it is. It’s YOU!”
