Celebrate City of Longmont’s GIS Day on Nov. 19
The City of Longmont will host its third annual GIS Day Celebration on Wednesday, Nov. 19 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. in the Aspen Room at the St. Vrain Memorial Building.
What is GIS?
GIS (Geographic Information Systems) is a dynamic tool that enables cities to map, analyze, and interpret data for better decision-making and efficient resource management. By leveraging GIS, municipalities can enhance public services, improve emergency response, support sustainable urban planning for a more resilient community, and much more.
Celebrate GIS Day with Us!
Hundreds of organizations worldwide host gatherings to celebrate the impactful work of GIS on the third Wednesday of November each year. Come learn about the work that Longmont’s GIS department does to aid in dozens of areas throughout the City.
You can meet the GIS team and ask questions about the work, tools and the role the GIS department plays for the City. There will be interactive maps and highlights of several GIS-related projects created for the City of Longmont. Learn more on our City of Longmont event page.
