Art in Public Places is embarking on a Flood Project in conjunction with the St. Vrain greenway restoration project.  We are seeking volunteers to assist in the selection of the artist and the artwork.  No art experience is necessary, though a familiarity with public artwork in Longmont is helpful.  Additionally, familiarity with the St. Vrain greeenway system is helpful.  Volunteers must be willing to discuss their opinions of public artwork and listen to others, working toward consensus to select this highly visible project that will memorialize the tragic events of the 2013 flood as the story is told in artwork along the greenway for generations to come.

 

Volunteers may be asked to commit to up to four evening meetings starting in March and wrapping up in September (dates TBD).  Applications for this project must be received by march 9, 2015.
