City experiences water main break on Ninth Avenue near the railroad tracks
The City of Longmont experienced a water main break in the area of Ninth Avenue near the railroad tracks. Eastbound Ninth Avenue was closed between Atwood Street and Martin Street while City staff made repairs. Repairs were made by late Sunday night and City crews will continue to work on back-filling the hole created by the main break.
No residents in the area encountered any disruption in water service during the break or subsequent repairs.
As a result of the break, crews will be spot flushing the water distribution system in this area when the break is repaired. During this time, residents may notice low water pressure, discolored water or no water for short periods of time. Throughout this process, the water remains safe to use.
