City of Longmont Issues Statement on Former Employee Arrest
The City of Longmont is aware that a former employee, Patricio Alejandro Illanes, was recently arrested. This individual’s employment with the City ended in 2021. We understand this news is deeply concerning to our community. At this time, Longmont Police have no known victims associated with either the City of Longmont Library or the City of Longmont Children, Youth and Family Services.
The city conducts thorough background checks of all employees and is actively reviewing our hiring and background check policies to ensure we maintain the highest standards for protecting our community. Our commitment to Longmont’s values and service, particularly the safety and well-being of the children and families we serve, remains unwavering.
