City of Longmont Launches “It’s YOU!” Campaign to Boost Community Participation on Boards and Commissions

The City of Longmont is excited to unveil a new It’s YOU! campaign aimed at enticing residents to help shape the future of their community. With more than 30 open positions on various boards and commissions, the City is calling on individuals to step forward and contribute their time, insights and expertise to the issues that they care most about.

Through the It’s YOU! campaign, the City of Longmont seeks to increase civic participation and the range of diverse perspectives that are essential to ensuring that the city continues to thrive. Board and commission members advise and guide on city policies, services and programs that support a vibrant and sustainable city, making a real difference at the community level.

The It’s YOU! campaign invites those who may not have previously thought that they would be a good fit for a board or commission appointment, to give it some serious thought. “It is so important that our boards are made up of individuals with different types of skills, experiences and perspectives,” said Longmont Mayor, Joan Peck. “For those who see this campaign and ask themselves ‘Could this really be about me?’ We want them to know that it is. It’s YOU!
