City to Host Annual “Clean Up Green Up” Event September 18 – October 9
Fall is on the horizon, it’s beginning to cool down, and leaves are starting to show signs of changing colors. It’s time to clean-up what summer has left behind — from picnics in the parks, tubing down the river, paddle boarding at the lakes and just the general pieces of paper, drink cups and bottles that pop up all over. Join your neighbors to clean-up our businesses, our streets and alleys, our parks, greenways, and our fields in the 26th Annual Clean-Up Green-Up event.
The Clean-Up Green-Up Campaign runs from September 18 to October 9, and individuals or groups may do clean up activities at any time during this period. Participants are encouraged to wear gloves for their safety during clean up activities. While registering, participants will be able to select a park, bike path, street, alley, open space, or a section of the St. Vrain Greenway to spruce up. Or, if undecided, an area can be assigned to the individual or group.
The Citywide effort begins with a Kickoff Event on Saturday, September 18, from 7:30 am to 10:30 am at the Parks & Natural Resources Administration Building, 7 S. Sunset St., Longmont 80501. At that time, participants can also sign up for a location and pick-up the orange trash and clear recycle bags.
Those needing more information, trash and recycle bags, or to sign up for an additional space can email Lore Blattner, Campaign Coordinator.
Help make our little corner of this world shine. Participate in the Clean-up Green-up event!
This event is sponsored by the City of Longmont and the Longmont Times-Call.
