This bulletin is part of Longmont Police Department’s Sexually Violent Predator Community Notification Program. Colorado Revised Statutes 16-13-901 through 16-13-905, require law enforcement to notify the community when a sex offender who meets the criteria for “Sexually Violent Predator” will be living in their community. The Longmont Police Department has no authority to prohibit sex offenders from living in the community. Acts of vigilantism or retaliation will not be tolerated and can be counterproductive to monitoring the offender.
The Sex Offender Management Board has determined that sex offender, Christopher Edward Lawyer, meets the criteria as a sexually violent predator and he is considered to pose a greater risk to the community.

CHARGE AND CONVICTION INFORMATION:
Current Conviction from Boulder County:
GUILTY 1st Degree Sex Assault by use of force/violence, 2nd Degree assault with a deadly weapon, and Menacing. Lawyer’s crime was not against a juvenile.
CURRENT STATUS:
Lawyer is currently on parole or under supervision with the Department of Corrections.

As of April 28, 2017, there are 273 sex offenders that live in Longmont. Lawyer is one of four classified as sexually violent predators who reside in Longmont.
