Documentary “Imber’s Left Hand” to Screen at Senior Center

Imber’s Left Hand, the new documentary about the celebrated artist Jon Imber and his search for meaning and fulfillment every day will be screened at the Longmont Senior Center (910 Longs Peak Ave., Longmont CO) on Tuesday, February 2 at 5:30 pm.

The film’s director, Richard Kane, will present the film and be available for a Q&A afterwards.

The film screened at the 2015 Boulder International Film Festival and at three other festivals won Audience Choice Awards for BEST FILM: Boston Jewish Film Festival; New Hampshire Jewish Film Festival; and the Hampton’s Take Two Documentary Film Festival. Directed by Richard Kane, Imber’s Left Hand (2014, 74 min) is a “deeply moving story” (Maine Sunday Telegram) of two artists faced with one’s death and how art and love give them the reasons to live. In a front page review the Boston Globe said: “This beautiful film … takes the wind out of you.”

Since its release in October 2014 the film has traveled to over 20 film festivals most recently screened at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. According to Kane: “I was given the extraordinary privilege of witnessing two lovers grapple with squeezing the most out of each moment of life. My hope is that the Audience Awards our film has received will catapult this inspiring story to where it can comfort the victims and families of those afflicted with ALS and inspire anyone to not waste a moment of life. Start now doing what fulfills you!”
